Shopping Cart

Time to go to Vons. This is the product that my group and I came up with. We used www.buildwithchrome.com making it easier to develop and build a prototype. Our goal was to create a "shopping cart of the future", making it easier on shoppers when going to the mall or the grocery store. The wheels are all battery powered, with a control interface on the handle of the cart, to turn and control the motors. The carts would be able to be plugged into the wall to charge up, and the batteries powering them would be cheap and compact, not weighing down the cart too much. We also incorporated the idea of having a screen somewhere on the cart, enabling shoppers to get a map of the store and the departments. It would also allow them to search up any items they were looking for. It's a pretty snazzy idea. Pros and Cons + Very easy to use because of powered wheels and navigation - Probably very expensive + Easily adaptable for any disabled customers - Target for theft due to expensive equipment + Recipes and Nutritional Values help keep user health conscious - Would raise the building's electrical bill, because of all the charging carts

Tooth Pick Bridge

Our (Mine and Dylans) Bridge weighed about 11.5 grams which was able to hold 115 batteries which was about a 230:1 ratio. After the repairs and redesign, the bridge weighed about 12.6 grams, and was able to hold 267 batteries which was a 490:1 ratio, meaning our bridge was the winner! I don't have a picture of the redesign, but i added 2 toothpicks on both sides where the strings would be. 1 horizontally, and 1 vertically. These 4 toothpicks, and some reinforcements on the joints made it possible to hold 152 more batteries! If i were to redesign it again, i would reinforce the joints on the end of the bridge to keep it from sagging on the end.

Ping Pong Bridge Challenge

In this challenge we had to construct a bridge that would allow a ping pong ball to roll over two feet from table to table.

Super Bowl Commercial

- The Wonderful Pistachios commercials was the best commercial because it was spaced between 2 commercials and was very funny. It also made me laugh that they'd use a popular icon like Stephen Colbert on their ad.

- It costed 6 million because there were two commercials.

- To Have Colbert on the commercial probably costs thousands of dollars on top of the eagle they had in the commercial.

- They need to get 8 hundred thousand wigdets

- I personally dont really like pistachios but the commercial made me laugh and made me recongnize pistachios more.

Lego Robobtics in Engineering

This week has been very fun as we have been working on making lego robots that we can program to move, turn and much more. We have been working all week on different models to make the best out of our robot.
